Dandelions, kites and wind…

Hi there,

It has been a while since my last post. I have been busy with several projects so I had no time to write. I would like to welcome you back with little design I’ve made for UHG Gallery challenge. The theme is “ Dandelions, kites, wind “ it is also a title of a song…I can almost feel summer breeze and smell morning dew in the meadow… How romantic. I love the challenge and here’s my creation.

I wanted to make the wings appear very graceful and fragile like real butterfly wings. So I used acetate, stamped the wings with archival jet-black ink and painted them with Perfect Pearls. I applied VersaMark ink at the back of the wings using watermark pen, sprinkled the perfect pearls and rubbed them in with soft brush. Then I heated them very carefully, not to melt the plastic, with a heat gun to set the pearls. By applying the effect to the back of the image lines stay crisp and black, without smudges. Surprisingly pearls stay on the acetate with no problem and the whole effect looks very cool and realistic, don’t you think?
You have to try it , let me know how it went, leave a comment and come back for more. Happy crafting and see you soon. 🙂
