“Celtic folie” for a challenge

Hello everyone.
I had a long brake in posting what I’ve been up to. Well… I’m back with some latest creation of mine. I made that card for a challenge that Ariana http://www.antreariana.blogspot.com/ had posted on her blog. I have to admit I had a lot of fun creating that card. I’m fascinated by Celtic culture, history and of course art.
Without further ado let me tell you a little about how I made that card.

I searched through my pile of old magazines to find some photograph that has a mystic Celtic feel to it. (Something’s wrong with my printer so I couldn’t use it to just print some photo from my library). In Air France flight magazine I found an add. I love the colours, the pose and dreamy atmosphere of that photo. I decided to alter a little the picture so using rubber stamps and sanding paper I added some texture to it and to highlight the reflections on her hair I used perfect pearls (although I’m afraid you’re not able to see it).
I decided to do something a little bit different so my card doesn’t have straight edges but is in the shape of a parallelogram (great word isn’t it?).
Next I distressed background paper with Ranger’s distress inks, and to decorate the frame I stamped some images (I love that set of stamps).

I used floral die cuts by Tim Holtz and embossed some Celtic art using my beautiful set of rubber stamps by David Balade to create an accent for my composition.
I decided that it needed a little sparkle so I placed some rhinestones that I coloured in pink using Stazon ink and voila! (as the French say).
