August Tags with Tim Holtz

Hi there,

It is time to join in tag fun challenge at UHK Gallery and for the first time Tim Holtz’s 12 tags for 2014 on his blog. This month tags on UHK have to have Tim Holtz products… what a coincidence… oh gosh do I love Tim’s products!

I had so much fun playing with distress paints and water to create drips, splashes and all sorts of fun effects for the background. I think it looks really cool. The colour pallet I chose was rather monochromatic but for me those colours worked the best for “grungy expressionism”.
I must admit that I had the most fun altering the metallic box that I found. The whole process to make it look old, distressed and rusty has been very amusing. I really like the final look what about you?

Dies: “Tag & Bookplates”, “Heart Wings”, Movers & Shapers “Mini Hearts Set”;
Distress Paints: black soot, picket fence, chipped sapphire, weathered wood, broken china, antique linen, seedless preserves;
Distress ink: walnut stain;
Embossing folder: Riveted metal set;
Idea-ology: ChitChat word stickers, Retro Grunge Paper Stash 12×12 Pad.

Not Tim Holtz’s:

Found metallic box;
Paper Artsy Fresco Beach Hut acrylic paint;
Gesso;
Golden: Transparent Red Iron Oxide and Quinacridone Burnt Orange acrylic paints;
Lumiere: Metallic olive green and Sunset gold paints;
Florilèges: Manuscript background stamp;
StazeOn: Cotton white ink;
Ranger: adhesive-backed foil sheets; Crackle accents, Glossy accents;
Brads, Golden regular gel medium, 3D foam, DoCrafts wooden letters.
