Easy Peasy Spooky Card

Hi there,

Today I have for you another Easy Peasy “Spooky” card.

To make it you will need:

Creamy card stock 11X15 cm for the base;
Smaller 10.5×14.5 cm piece of watercolour paper;
Embossing powder (white);
Embossing ink;
Distress Ink, “Dusty Concord”;
“Black Soot” Distress Paint;
Glue, glue dots, permanent black marker, Black Archival ink, two “Googly Eyes”;

Stamps:
Set of alphabet stamps;
Hero Arts Clings ”Swirls Magical Background”;

Dies:
Tim Holtz, “Bird Branch”;
Movers & Shapers “Mini Cat & Raven Set”

And now to work!

Step 1

Wipe paper with embossing buddy and using embossing ink stamp design.

Step2

Apply embossing powder, remove excess by tapping your scrap of paper up side down.

Step3

Heat the powder with a heat gun; use tweezers not to burn your fingers.

Step4

Place embossed paper on hard working surface (working mat), and using blending tool and Distress ink apply ink starting from the edge of the paper toward the middle. You’ll notice that embossed design resists the ink and shows after applying colour.

Step5

When you apply ink to the background use Distress Paint to accentuate the edges. I used paint but you can as well use ink.

Step6

Use your cutting machine to cut out the branch and cat shapes . I removed the bird from the original die cut by simply cutting it off as just a branch looked better for that particular design I had in mind. Then position your branch and a cat on the background, and when you’re happy with your composition glue them.

Step7

Use black Archival ink and set of alphabet stamps to stamp “ Happy Halloween” and “Spooky”.

Step 8

Use glue dots to glue “googly eyes” into the middle of O’s , using black Sharpie marker draw eyebrows on top of the eyes and glue finished background to the base of your card.

And here’s finished card:
